Bands

Black Time
They believe in talent over ability, ideas over proficiency, energy over competence - action... time... and vision. They were great as support to the Monks at the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend.

The Branded
From Malmö, Sweden, and fronted by the former bassist of Thee Exciters, this is raw and powerful bluesy garage-punk, straight off a Back From The Grave LP. Their second single is on Dirty Water Records.

Los Chicos
Out of Madrid, Spain, this is a six-man rock'n'roll machine constructed from the best parts of real R&B, garage rock, pub'n'punk rock...and gospel - 'n' kick the livin' shite out of it. Their album, "Launching Rockets", came out on Dirty Water Records in October 2007.

Billy Childish
His first band was The Pop Rivets, then The Milkshakes, followed by Thee Mighty Caesars – and he's been with us at the Dirty Water Club since we started the club back in 1997, first with Thee Headcoats, then The Buff Medways and now with The Musicians of the British Empire as well as making an occasional appearance as The Chatham Singers.

d3ö
Bluesy rock'n'roll band from Portugal whose "Wanna Hold You" was the eleventh release on the label.

The Dexateens
The kind of music the Kings of Leon might make if they were more talented and not obsessed with the Strokes. They ably supported the Fleshtones at the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend despite losing a band member due to a head injury sustained on stage at a previous date in their tour.

Dirthole
Three guitarists, four drummers, bass, vocals and occasional horns, the London Dirthole Company plays '60s influenced rock'n'roll with a '00s crease in its trousers - and were an ideal choice for supporting the Monks at the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend, both of them musically and otherwise being totally out there on their own.

The Dirty
Bluesy and punky rock'n'rollers that are on the Dirty Water label's first single release. They are now signed to Tricky's Brown Punk label.

Thee Exciters
Wild and raw garage band that are on the Dirty Water label's second single release. Their first full length album, featuring a round up of all their singles as well as a batch of all-new tracks, is out early in 2008.

The Fleshtones
Garage rock'n'soul outfit from Brooklyn who started out in 1976 and were headliners on the Friday night of the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend. A tribute to the Fleshtones album came out on Dirty Water Records (CD) and Larsen Records (vinyl) in the autumn of 2007 in a collaboration with the Fleshtones Hall of Fame.

The Grease Monkeys
This bunch of Glasgow-based rock'n'roll misfits have been bangin' out their loud rocked-out take on '60s garage & '70s punk since the beginning of the new milennium and supported the Fleshtones at the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend.

Holly Golightly
An old friend of Dirty Water - she used to perform as one of the Headcoatees, girl group auxilliary of Billy Childlish's band Thee Headcoats - since going solo she has enjoyed great success under her own name, getting her name more well known when she sang with Jack White on the White Stripes' "Elephant" album.

The Hentchmen
These new-wave/garage rockers, veterans of the Detroit scene have played at the Dirty Water Club maybe four or five times over the last ten years and are a band that are always worth seeing.

The Hollywood Sinners
Manic Spanish trio whose only interest is in getting drunk and making noisy and energetic garage-punk. Their Dirty Water release, a split single with Dublin band The Urges, comes out in April 2008.

Lyres
One of the best garage-rock outfits around, this Boston group has been fronted by Jeff Connoly since their inception back in the late 1970s. A re-issue of their 1979 recordings of "Don't Give It Up Now" and "How Do You Know?" was the third release on Dirty Water.

The Monks
Five GIs stationed in Germany in the mid-1960s who became the world's first avant garde rock'n'roll band - forget about the Velvet Underground, the Monks were there first! Their first ever London gig in October 2006 was the undoubted highlight of the Dirty Water Club's tenth anniversary weekend.

Muck & the Mires
British Invasion style rock'n'roll from Boston, USA? I'm down with that! Their debut UK release came out in the summer of 2007 on the Dirty Water label – and they're back in London in March 2008 with a 10" vinyl release of new recordings coming out on Dirty Water.

Los Peyotes
The sixth release on Dirty Water Records (October 2007) is the best garage-punk song you'll have heard in the last ten years! These guys from Argentina and Peru knock out some of the most toe tapping and yet fierce sounds around.

The Priscillas
Four ladies with big boots, big hair and small skirts playing a mix of punk and garage rock with pop hooks and attitude a plenty. Their single "Superhero" -came out on Dirty Water in June 2007.

The Urges
Fantastic garage-pysch outfit from Dublin, Ireland, who supported the Sonics at their reunion gig in New York in November 2007 and whose split single with the Hollywood Sinners is out on Dirty Water in April 2008.

The Vipers
These Manchester boys impressed us so much on their first visit to the Dirty Water Club that we released their single, "Satellite Boys". An album is to come soon.

The Woggles
From Atlanta, Georgia, this garage-soul outfit is guaranteed to always get the crowd at Dirty Water up on their feet and dancing on the tables.
